Last night at Brooks was the Annual Holiday Concert and Art Showcase. The reception began at 6pm in the commons where a collection of student art was displayed. I had the pleasure of talking to many parents throughout the evening. To the left is a collage of the artwork from both Fine Art and Applied Art.
New to the showcase this year were examples of digital art created by my Applied Art students. There were 4 iPads that were screening stop motion animations. See
Casey's test animation on YouTube.
I also highlighted a slideshow of digital photos from the recent inaugural session of iPhotography club. A gallery of student images is HERE.
Also on display were a grouping of wooden emotion masks created during the first trimester. Students designed, cut, sanded, and decorated these by hand. The entire gallery can be found HERE.
All in all it was a great night. The sounds of the chorus and orchestra filled the halls, kids enjoyed giant candy canes, and the students creativity was inspiring.
